After the success of our I Pedagogical Conference celebrated in November, 2012 in Paris, the II Pedagogical Conference has been a common will and challenge amongst our EACWP members. This time the event has been voluntarily coordinated by one of our founding members —Orivesi College of Arts— and our new Finnish institutional member —Jyväskyla University— that has recently joined us in April, 2014.
The main topics of the conference will deal in this ocassion with Creative Writing concerning the areas of pedagogy of writing and the therapeutic potential of writing as well as a wide and diverse spectrum of keynotes, lectures, round table discussions and workshops along with a parallel program session regarding a variety of subjects such as acoustic poetry, English as a communication language, translation, American Creative Writing culture and literature and multilingualism. Interdisciplinary approaches and also both scientific and popular papers will be welcomed and shared throughout the different scheduled activities.
The conference will take place in Jyväskylä from the 21st to the 22nd and in Orivesi from the 24th to the 25th of October. On Thursday the 23rd will be an excursion day to Pirkanmaa that includes, among other things, guided visits to the Keuruu Old Church and the art museum Gösta in Mänttä. The excursion is also a way to travel from Jyväskylä to Orivesi. The programme that would had started already in Jyväskyla will continue in Orivesi with an introductory session and get-together late on Thursday evening. The last two days, the 24thand the 25th, the conference will take place at the Orivesi College of Arts.
The conference is intended for teachers, experts, researchers, and students in the fields of writing and pedagogy. The presence of professionals from outside of Europe will be thoroughly welcome.
The events during the conference will create important opportunities of networking for all those interested in conceptual and methodological approaches in the pedagogy of writing.
The participation fee including the programme organized in Jyväskylä is 100€ for EACWP and NAVE members and 125€ for non-members. This also includes catering during the scheduled breaks and related events on 20th, 21st and 22nd October.
