Creative Writing class in Spanish at the Vienna Poetry School

From the 23rd. to the 24th of May (2016) the Vienna Poetry School (sfd) will host this intensive course for Spanish learners and Spanish native speakers. The class is organised in the context of the EACWP-network and the Teachers’ Interchange Programme, in association with Escuela de escritores (Madrid) and supported by the European Erasmus+ programme. This Creative Writing course in Spanish is centered in the production of literary texts as a learning tool to deepen into Spanish language itself, grammar and Hispanic culture, in general. The goal of these two days workshop is to look at different examples of literary writing, as well as writing strategies in order to work on the students’ texts. The course is addressed to Spanish speakers, preferably on level B2 or B1 (minimum). EACWP students and members are especially welcome.

Daniel Saavedra Aguirre


Born in 1975 in Chile. Studied at Universidad Complutense in Madrid. Worked as journalist. Founder and head of the virtual campus of the Escuela de Escritores de Madrid. Lecturer for “Creative writing in Spanish”, “Periodismo on-line”, “Expresión oral y escrita” and “Culture and society in Latin America” at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München.
Since 2003 contribution to several anthologies (novellas and poems): Nada normal, Baraka, Balas perdidas. Amongst others, narrator and translator of audio books and multimedia courses for Spanish as a foreign language.
